How to Apply

Returning Students

A re-enrollment for current families takes place every year in late February. Official registration for the next school year is completed once all registration forms are submitted/returned and the registration fee has been paid via FACTS.

New Students

  1. The enrollment process for new students at St. John’s begins with either a private tour or a phone conference with Principal Ian Paulsen or Pre-School Director Laurie Peil. You can schedule a tour online through our website or by emailing our school office at sjlwildcats@gmail.com.

  2. Once we have answered your questions about our academics and programs, tuition as well as having had a chance to see our campus and meet our staff, you can continue with the registration process.

  3. When registering, please make sure to select St. John’s Lutheran School Bay City, MI as your ENROLLING SCHOOL. You will need to complete an online registration for each student you plan to enroll. If you have any questions about the online registration process, please contact Mr. Paulsen at ipaulsen@stjohnsbc.org.

  4. Your request for enrollment will be reviewed and acted upon by St. John’s School Board of Education once we have received your online application as well as your completed FACTS tuition account setup.

  5. Upon account setup, the office will charge the yearly registration fee of $135 per Kindergartener and/or $150 per student (grades 1-8) to your FACTS account.

  6. New students and families will be informed of the School Board's decision by email or phone call.

  7. Upon acceptance, any additional paperwork should be returned to our office at your earliest convenience.

Registration will be done primarily online, with the exception of Part A below. Part A must be done with paper forms that are part of a family registration packet, which are available for pickup at school. The information in Parts B and C contains information that is meant to help you register successfully and efficiently. Please download and review the Parent-Student Handbook and the other forms and information provided. By completing the online registration you are agreeing to submit to the governing policies of the school, including policies and guidelines in the Parent-Student Handbook.

You will need the snap code that was sent to you via email or the printed letter that was sent home with each child’s snap code for PowerSchool Enrollment. If you are new or do not remember your username you will also need to create an account.

Returning families do not need to create an account, only new families do. Use this link to do that. Once you create an account, we will send home a tuition worksheet to be signed and returned to the office. No charges will be applied to your account until we receive that worksheet back.

PART A

All parents will need to fill out and return the following documents to the school. All of these documents are included in the registration packet and are also available online for your convenience. These forms are due back to the school office in order to finalize your enrollment.

Part B

The following optional documents, if you choose to make use of them, need to be completed and returned to school (details in parentheses).

Part C

The following documents are informational in nature and will be helpful to you as you complete the online registration. Please download and read through the documents that are applicable to you and your child(ren).
